Everyone has accidentally forgotten the WHERE clause on a DELETE query and blasted some un-backed up data once or twice. I was pondering that problem, and I was wondering if the solution I came up with is practical.

That way, you'd use normal DELETE statements on the original table, so taking a backup directly before running ... .
To avoid the to_be_deleted WHERE clause you could create using your cron job.
Instead of wait for the scheduled job to run.

Many of the older workers seem to find them more of a pain than anything else while the younger generation may not. Some older workers, so I've been told, are leaving because they figure "safet procedures" slow them down. Some even refuse to follow procedures...

I have mixed feelings about safety inspection, I do my own maintenance and it is nice to have someone look at it every year than anyone.
And I'm sure they'd rather be doing jobs that actually make some money.

Today I was out in the shop stripping the Ujoints from a couple of GM drive shafts these are the ones with the caps held in place with injected plastic, I was taught to lightly heat the yokes around the caps to soften the plastic and it will squirt out...
