Right now i use either HttpWebRequest or WebClient to download files. I would like to see how many kbytes per second i am currently downloading at. How may i do this?

Many sites put bandwidth limits, especially on free accounts.
Also, your download speed is limited or people you are limited on their speed as well.
Wireless connections are usually slower than wired ones.

So if you did download other games at 2.0MBps then on speed test your result would have been:20mbps Well ArmA chugged along....
2.57Mbps = 321.63 KB/s
so based on your line speed you would normally get around 250KBps -300KBps.

The issue I'm having is when I try to download some files from really big torrents more then 100GB.
I add torrent, then I select only few file from it and then I start downloading. However, often for some reason the speed goes up to 9 kB/s and stays there...

I have a 1 MB dsl connection and i am getting around 100 kb/s downloading speed. I was wondering if its right or i should expect more?
Infact my real question is what it really mean by 1 MB internet connection? To me its like my ISP divide 1 MB for 8-...

1 Megabits (Mb) = 1024 kilobits (kb), To convert to kilobytes....
With line-protocol overhead, sometimes, but most of the time I get about 2-300kb/s .
Arround 1024 / 8 = 128 kilobytes (kB) download speed, so 100 kB is great.

Any ideas what the average user's download speed is? I'm working on a site that streams video and am trying to figure out what an average download speed as to determine quality.

Although when the planets align I've gotten as much as 2 MB/sec (the "quoted" peak downlink ....
They have data by state, so if you have money then you can, I typically get 200-300 kB/sec.
US resident has a 1.9Mbps download speed.

Anybody else getting really slow download speeds on the patch? Every other program and download I run DLs at about 500-600 KB/S, but Rift's patcher is stupidly slow. It takes me over an hour just to patch 30-40 megs worth of files. At this rate the game...

Closed the patcher, re-launched it and now I get....
And then afterwards, it went into it's extracting phase, and just keep looping the extraction. .
That's outrageous..
45 minutes to grab 27MB.
I was pulling an amazing 11.5 Kbps down!.

Same KB has downloaded and installed 61 times Everytime I log off it says Downloading Pleas Wait and KB2310138 downloads and installs. What should I do to stop this from happening? K2310138 is an update for MS Security Essentials.
