Using Windows XP as host and guest(s) and VirtualBox as virtualization solution.
Do I have to keep the guest's window open in order to keep it running?
When I try to close it, the "Close Virtual Machine" popup comes up.
If not possible, how can I reduce...

The recommended way is to start the VM using vboxheadless .
In VBox v3.06, it's listed in: Chapter 7.
The VirtualBox help file describes how to do what you want .

This is probably a superuser.com question, but it isn't online yet.
The PHY on my NIC is blinking on and off ridiculously, and it should always be on. I googled it and found no answers, just questions.

I added this command to /....
Ethtool -s eth0 autoneg off
So far so good; the PHY is not being turned off .
I decided to try disabling the pause auto-negotiation after perusing its man page.. .
Somewhere in my googling for a solution I came across ethtool .

I have worked hard on this baler, replaced some hydraulics lines and the pickup bearing. I did all on my own being a woman, with no fancy equipment just a floor jack. The pickup bearing took a long time out in the hot sun. So now I thought all was fixed...

Here's a basic usage....
Check out the RAMDirectory documentation.
Mount the RAM disk as your index directory, and you should be done .
A mini-HOWTO is available at http://www.vanemery.com/Linux/Ramdisk/ramdisk.html.
A RAM disk could be a solution for this.

A couple of DSHKs in an urban backyard under a low slow flight path would be much harder to detect and stop than a man trying to take a bomb onto a plane, but would be about as effective when it came to downing an airliiner.
