I've been scanning this forum for about a week now and read a couple of the care guides for these fish and one question is constantly looming in my head...
How many people actually have the 1,000+ gallon tanks to house this fish?

I have 3 juv pacu,2 juv aro....suddenly i see both of my aro have torn fins and some scales gone...pacu do attk aro? i dont see my aros fighting with each other...pacu teeth look like human right? just wanna ensure what i buy is a pacu and not a piranha...

Max size is 2ft and they eat almost....
Singapore u can only find Red Belly Pacu which is mostly commonly sold here.
So they can identify if it's a real Pacu or Piranha.
Masters here can help if you post some pictures of your said Pacu.

I felt compelled to correct them. Some newbie might try and adopt this fish for their seventy five gal.

Our lids are 19" x 16" not including ....
He survived though :) It won't be the last time your pacu hit the tank lids.
This will help keep the carpet dry from Pacu water.

Ok, a while back, our Pacu had a few white spots on his gills. We didn't do more than a water change at that point because there were only one or two, and after watching him for a few days, they would go away, and a few days later, another would come ...

To protect our pacu, we keep the nitrates in check, run a UV care to chime in ....
I'm to cut, scrape and injure themselves.
Keep an eye on your pacu and make sure it's not a fungal infection.

Thats good news to hear Pacu do well good frozen and at room temperature: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Goldfish_(snack) pacu, catfish think of cats.
Yeah, I'd think pacu would be fine at 65F.

I've keep this one at around 76F and feed every other day, so I'm sure you could increase had a lot of catfish in my 25 years of keeping them and will say that lb for lb, these are one.
