What we did until the kitten was older was just left the adult food out like normal, but fed to catnip.....
Also, place several the time.
kittens like to run around and chew so you will want to kitten-proof your house.

My cat and kitten are acting like they don't know each other. ? We have a kitten and a cat. the cat was fine with the kitten when we first got him, and then the kitten had to spend the night at the vet's. Now my cat growls at him and wont go near him....

They have accept the "new" kitten....
So your older cat may think it is a different, strange kitten.
If the kitten was anesthetized, her breath will even smell different.
In the vet's kennel and/or any medication the kitten was given.
