Hey Guys,
For those of you that have used the J&S Safeguard for knock sensing and timing retard, where did you mount the knock sensor(s)? How many knock sensors did you install? And how many can the Safeguard reliably handle?
It seems that a good approach...

Hi Steve - If the breather location it is compared to....
Mine having the heads machined to take the 993 cylinder knock bridges.
What does matter is getting the proper torque on the knock sensor itself.

Any 4.3 2000 and older will have a one wire knock sensor....
These are 01+ 2 wire knock sensors too guys.
Any other.
I suspect I'm not plugged in.
Of the engine, but still haven't seen the Knock Sensor or its' pigtail.

I think I've finally located the knock sensor wire and if it's what i think it is, it's unplugged. That could be givning me the code 52. If it's the correct black wiring harness that has to small copper male ends inside of it.

Does this look like the wire that the end of the knock sensor should plug.
It seems like it would have to be close user name sucks .
The pigtail of the Knock sensor wire comes out from under the plenum.

I am at a loss with this right now...
I've replaced the sensor, cleaned the threads & the connector no luck. The only thing I can think of that would be causing it would be how I grounded the engine to body ground or how I grounded the negative terminals...

Diameter - probably M8x1.25
if you find another 12mm bolt that looks just like it in the engine bay - or the 12mm rear 12mm drive shaft connecting bolts, they'll be the same threads .

And back on) upon inspection I noticed the sensor was hand tight (at best) ....no need for the wrench tight, then a quarter turn with a wrench after.
Knock sensor will not cause this.
The CEL really is.

Got new knock sensors for $50 each and temporarly untill I can afford to have them installed I used hose clamps and attached them to the fuel rail Codes are gone and this was the last issue throwing codes.
egr issues fixed new spark plugs and new wires...

I spliced into the wiring harness close to the firewall and the knock sensor wires are pretty easy to recognise....
So by moving it to a different area made the car run a bit ... .
The knock sensor doesn't like the SuperCharger.
