We are building a site, where all the knowledge base articles need to be displayed? Is ther any Open source Java based Knowledge Base System available? If not, what are the best alternatives?(wiki, cms)

I read in an exam about knowledge representation the question: What is a vivid knowledge base? And I wonder about the answer. Google only gives me some links to books which I can buy about it or some CiteSeerX articles. Wikipedia also doesn't know anything...

A company I used worked at previously used ScrewTurn Wiki to contain a knowledge base, and it was useful, especially when needing to remember how to do working on a similar knowledge....
