If you mean, sharing the connection via regular wireless cards while being connected to 3g, I guess it would be possible, but IMHO, ... .
3g is I believe a trade name for Wi-max standard .
G and wifi (as in "regular" wireless cards) are not the same thing .

It may be easier to assign static IP addresses to the 2 ethernet ports, or make laptop 1 a DHCP.
Configure laptop 1 as a router.
Use a cross over ethernet cable to connect the 2 laptop ethernet ports.
