2k 9 latency or 1600 7 latency
Will the over all speed of 2k ram with 9 latency (9-9-9-24-2n or 9-9-9-27-2n) beat out 1600 with 7 latency (7-7-7-24-2n or 7-8-7-24-2n)
im guessing yes because latency is such a small amount compared to overall speed but wasn't sure.

Hi newcomer and welcome to the Tom's hardware forum.
No, between the 2K and 1600MHz don't exist any big difference more if u bear in mind that the CL is more high for the 2k RAM.
Go with 1600 CL6, CL7 or CL8 and don't wasted ur money in a 2K RAM.

Sorry, I did make a mistake in my thoughts.
The fact that I hear no latency from my guitar doesn't mean there is not in the recorded track, so the latency correction is the same than when I monitor.
But I'm still wondering which latency....

Cause High DPC Latency.
2nd link in my signature might help...but you MUST know what your line's latency issue.

Hi,
I've recently installed RME HDSP9632 PCI card in Cubase SE3 - and tried to adjust the latency in ASIO Multimedia Setup (ver. 1.7.0.
Win XP Pro SP3.
Device setup in Cubase says : Input latency 0.884 ms/ Output latency 95.238
I don't understand why ...

No, using the correct driver for your RME HDSP would probably fix the problem...
ASIO Multimedia setup is not where you have to adjust anything if you´re using The RME as soundcard.

Speed vs. latency? - Memory
When purchasing memory, what's more beneficial, higher speed but with higher latency (e.g., DDR3 2000 with latency 9) or or lower speed but with lower latency (e.g., DDR3 1600 with latency 7)?

Well its a matter of taste really,some users prefer higher timings and some prefer higher speeds but DDR3 1600 is a good speed,i don't think you will need more than that unless you want to overclock your CPU to an insane speed Hi.
Low CL + High speed ....

Latest Nvidia driver high DPC latency?
Is anyone else getting DPC latency spikes with the latest Nvidia driver? I'm in windows 7 64 bit and DPC is spiking up when I mouse over the task bar among other things.
Audio crackle makes me a sad panda, get it together and fix this Nvidia...

Audio playback does not like that.
Not sure if this is the same problem but I play L4D2 is having the problem and a link to the DPC latency checker is in the original post...

TSA (TS Associates) Correlix Corvil this is much the same as measuring "speed" in space: You have to ask latency relative to what? If you try measuring it on the wire....

Sorry my latency this week was over 900 ms now it seems like its back to normal MTN Business till messed up , 3 weeks and counting now with 600ms latency is amazing this afternoon using afrihost 500ms for a week.
Atleast it didnt take months....
