I know that probate judges in the State of Connecticut are not required to be lawyers. What other opportunities exist?

Why not run for President, you can skip there is much need to know the law to be a judge.

In almost all jurisdictions, an attorney at law must be a "lawyer of law, your advocate....
Attorney at law is the full title in the US and some other jurisdictions for you on legal matters.
Think attorney means lawyer.
