Just curious who has the oldest WORKING lawn mower battery. What kind is it?
Definition of working: Sit on mower, turn key, and it starts with out a jump, charge, etc.

I have a really nice new electric start 6.5 hp lawn mower engine.
But it is vertical shaft.
Is there like a 90 degree elbow gearbox thing I can buy that I could bolt to the shaft that would make it so I could put a horizontal propeller on it.

If your engine is designed for a walk-behind lawn mower, it will not run properly without....
To make a straight shaft setup, but use his vertical lawn mower engine, which is an interesting Kayak this thing is too heavy anyway.

These are things that originally got me started on working on engines. They are great push mowers and be used almost anywhere because they are 2-strokes. Does anyone else own these or have owned them or used them? What are all your opinions on them?

I have 03 lawn mower. the deck is removed.using for snow plow. i check it to see if starting and the motor would not turn. replace solenoid, key switch, battery, and starter. still not starting, but if i hot wire it the motor turns but no running motor...

Right, well, i have neglected to run my tractor over the winter and now that battery is mostly dead (cranks slooowly). So tomorrow I am planning to jump it...but I recently saw that you should jump the lawn mower with the car off to avoid overcharging...

What options do I have for a starter that will fit my M (or be made to fit my M) that has more balls than the standard starter. After rebuilding the 2 cylinder Detroit I don't have enough torque to turn it over since...

If it is any help on my 75hhp M, get ahold of a GOOD starter....
I would not know where to start looking though.
I would recommend to switch your tractor over reduction starter.
Thing are good for is riding lawn mowers in my opinion.
