I got a LCD back in 2004 ( SyncMaster 710v ) . It was working fine, but recently I found it exceptionally glowing, causing great discomfort and tiredness to my eyes.
Since I face the LCD all the time, I'm not sure whether my discomfort is because of long...

Not directly answering the question, but you might want to try F.lux , which:

First things, get someone else to look at it, if they say it is glowing - monitor .

HELP: T61 LCD Blank w Backlight: Ext LCD works VGA/Dual DVI
What do I do?
I first thought it was the nVidia card NVS 140M going kaput on me. But it seems to be working.
Even at boot the internal LCD remains blank (but with some back lighting), while the...

I'd try an LCD cable, and if that doesn't....
Reseat both ends of the LCD cable, both at the back of the LCD.
I'd try an LCD cable, and if that doesn't work check fuses.
Since the backlight lights, you can rule out an inverter .

Differences between LCD with PIVOT and without PIVOT are only possibility to rotation and detection of this rotation?
Or I just buy LCD without PIVOT + LCD holder with rotation and using graphic card setting for rotation screen and I will have same result...

One....
:)
yes on both accounts as the viewing angle is horrible .
And vice versa.
Your second assumption (question?) will be right - you can just buy an LCD and a mount with rotation, and it is exactly the same as LCD with PIVOT functions.

I am talking about computer LCD, not LCD TVs!
Right now the largest LCD you can get is a 30" from various companies. The resolution is a 16:10 widescreen 2560x1600.
The maximum resolution of one DisplayPort cable is 2560x1600, so it seems like we have...

It's obviously not the best way but lcd's are not that fragile, with a bit of moisture it helps protect....
Also look-out for a little spray whose I use some spit and a soft paper napkin .
With special wipes you can buy for cleaning LCD screens.

Does anyone know where I can buy a 20" LCD that supports 1900x1200 resolutions?

Answer Snippets (Read the full thread at superuser):
It looks like most all of the 20" monitors run 1600x900. .
The smallest I was able to find quickly at that resolution is 24" .
I use a Samsung T240, but that's a 24" monitor, not 20" .

Is there any way to detect/default to the native resolution for an LCD monitor (on Windows XP)?
(this is an older monitor and I haven't found the documentation on it)

Answer Snippets (Read the full thread at superuser):
As long as you have the correct drivers installed, the 'native' resolution of an LCD is the same as its maximum resolution.
Unlikely to damage an LCD simply by briefly switching to an out-of-bounds res.

A friend has a Power Macintosh 8500/180 (yes a bit of a classic from the mid-90s!) and wishes to upgrade the monitor from the huge CRT it is now using to LCD.
Looking at the specs of this machine it has a DB15 display port, which it seems can output via...
