You need an IPS or PVA panel instead of any kind of TN .
Don't use TN based monitors, Any S-IPS or SPVA monitor should give you good results (Samsung 971P used to do the work for my developers) I'm using dell 2209WA which is also good.. .

I just got a new monitor to replace one of the ones I have at work. I went from this*:
1: 1600x1280 2: 1400x768

The application accepts password protected files and large files up to several hundred MBs .
You can read PDFs in landscape mode, zoom in and out .
I think the iPhone with GoodReader (commercial app 4.99 US$) is the best choice at the moment .

Other fans out there as well :p I don't use Consolas, though it does look good on LCD, but sometimes I'm not on LCD, like when I'm giving presentations and then it looks crap.

Is there any standard on common website resolution?
We are targeting newer monitors, perhaps at least 1280px wide, but the height may varies, and each browser may have different toolbar heights too.

After living with my DIY cheap foam hood for the 5D--- I found the Seagull LCD Viewfinder for only $102 on Amazon. It appears to be a knock off of the famous Zacuto Z Finder.
I'm very pleased. Solid construction and the glass magnifier is nice and clear...
