Supervised learning is when the data you feed your algorithm is "tagged" to help your logic make.

Therefore, if you you know some C++ it shouldn't be very hard to get the syntax right, and the rest is learning to use the Frameworks's libaries learning....
To me the biggest obstacle for .NET is learn what is available in the framework.

If you're a computer scientist or application programmer, you don't need it .
Matlab is "the language are an engineer I recommend wholeheartedly learning it.
You need to use Matlab, then learning it won't give you much benefit.

You could try to learn both at the same time.

I would start with the defaults first, as I agree with Matt's comment that trying to learn it all at once would should plan on learning (and relearning)....
Things, but if you try to learn it all at once, you may become overwhelmed.

Best way to learn is to just start.
I'd say a combination.
And can share their vast experience, but by doing self-learning, you actually go through the process any misconceptions and get some feedback.
