It is perfectly normal for elms to have some leaves turnWelcome buddy.
And if this is the condition of the tree now then it looks fine.

leaves turning yellow was a possible sign of zinc or magnesium deficiency thing, and if so, the tree should come back ok next year.

My guess days the relative humility has probably dropped....
Its possible its using its energy to support the new growth by shedingThe yellowing of the leaves on the back bulbs should raise some mild concern.

The leaves on this cane are turning yellow and I expect them to fall off off....
This is my first (not shown) has no leaves.
This one will bloom on newer canes.
The bottom leaves turning yellow are normal.
