You could try:
legend { position: absolute; top: -1000px; }
You can't do this in Firefox because I'll get flamed for this - legend tags are one of the few places I deliberately break the spec the legend and positioning/manipulating....

Then you can change their text colors separately.
To change the legend text colors individually, you have to first get the handles to the text objects, which are children of the legend object.
