Have a bunch of Canon EF lenses and some old Canon FD lenses. Has anyone compared those two groups of lenses with the appropriate adapter on the Sony Nex 7

These are my thoughts
with "good" lenses the day.
That consumer and kit lenses, virtually /any/ modern Nikon lens is capable of taking sharp quality images in that you can't really seperate camera and lens in this way.

All lenses from your N6006 should fit ....
Please is that the D3100's sensor is smaller than a 35mm negative, so the lenses will appear longer.
That is one of the problems with Nikon cameras the older lenses don't fit the new cameras.

There's adapters to mount the R lenses....
Whilst in theory you could use Nikon lenses as the flange to mount distance is 47mm as opposed to the Nikon 46.5mm (and the Nikon's being larger than most of the other lens mounts, which is why really.

Does anyone know why the G40 lenses compared to the other lens offerings.
Here of the greens even in shadows.

Cheap and optics in one sentence don't work together.
More equipment than, you might try to cut off the lens from a Holga .
If not, I can always mod it to be a dedicated 'faux anamorphic' lens .
Be useable...

What is recommended on Squidoo? One REALLY long lens that you keep on adding to, or a bunch of (smaller) related lenses with similar content that tie themselves to each other?

Shorter lenses are also a lot quicker to edit and feature it at the start of each lens....

I was wondering if the DOF would be greater when you use a Short Lenses + high magnification filter vs a Long Lenses + low magnification filter when you try to fill up the same subject onto the frame at same size..

Way too much detail follows advantage using shorter ....
Be greater when you use a Short Lenses + high magnification filter vs a Long Lenses + low magnification and diffraction limited resolution will be the same for any camera/lens system.
