Today I bought something fairly spontaneously in my quest to eat healthier... lentils.
I have no idea of anything simple, tasty and healthy to do with them. I'm googling like mad here.
So I turn to my brothers and sisters here at A'vron.

Usually, this Indian stew is made with chickpeas (garbanzo beans) but lentils are a great prevents them from softening.)

I am not sure if anyone uses this method but i have been using it for a few years and it works wonders. I know springtails can be raised on things such as rice, fish flakes etc but has anyone ever tried lentils ? I use them now for all my springtails ...

Do you pulvarize or cook them? Or just feed them the entire, dry lentil? I just drop the normal seeds in there and let the lentils grow.

Haven't tried....
Of course after a few days growth they will start to rot them as another tiny food source .

Yes you should soak those....
It's the larger pulses that need to be soaked, red lentils are small enough to cook for cooking.
Lentils definately need to be soaked overnight then drained ti get rid of toxins then they need require anything else.

Health Store don't have them. Dunnes don't have them. Supervalu looked at me like I had 2 heads when I asked for them. Tesco only have pre-cooked ones with chicken or mushroom flavour.
Want to make a puy lentil and onion soup, where can I get them?

Tesco have them but they call them "green" lentil sorted (and share the recipe - I love me some lentils ) I buy them in our local health food shop, I think they are labeled green speckled lentils....
To have them, will go back and check again.

The grocery store or ....
Easy to find.
The are packaged in jars or in clear cello bags at better stores (Fresh Market) .
Bay leaves are found in the spice section of any larger grocery store .
That is where they grow.
You can buy the bay leaf at the "bay".
