It is a common problem for our cars. Lifters with high mileage start making noise and bleed overnight. This is not because of a worn lifter, but because of dirt collected by it.
Our lifters have a check valve consisting of a steel ball, a ball seat, and...

I researched it real quick....
The noisy valve train of any Andrews cam has caused many to trade out for the same performance...and I came to the conclusion that the best lifter for a street ridden evo is the H-D big axle lifter.

The X factor is why are you getting lifter noise on initial you don't have noisy ....
However, you should the lobes on the camshaft look normal .
Heck NO, installing new lifters on a matched lifter & camshaft are not advised.

The lifter is not on the ramp it exerts NO pressure to contact the cam whereas the hyd version is a small to shorter cam and lifter life for the set that is more in contact. But the machanical valve train must be maintained at proper clearance....

Sounds a bit weird but I just want to make sure I'm not overlooking something here.
When I got the Me-Ottter it was suffering a little from lifter tick at startup, but changing the oil to Rotella T6 cured that mostly. Recently, the oil change interval...

We all know not to reuse flat tappet lifters on a new cam but what about rollers? I have a 40 000 mile Comp hydraulic roller and am in need of new lifters. You can see by looking at the cam lobes that they're worn. Nothing you can feel with your fingertips...

The bars are riveted....
I had lifter.
I've JUST changed pushrods to accomodate the new heads and longer valves .
lifter that bugs me is the need for another set of pushrods seeing that the seat height changes from lifter to lifter.
