Hi,
Planning a big maze for 2012. It'll have bridges, i.e. a 2nd level at 2m high so some health and safety issues and therefore lighting is more important.
I'd like to use various lighting sources, but in particular some solar-powered fairy lights.
I...

Personally, I would recommend running....
My own personal experience with solar lights is that they are very dim, and don't provide a full, I converted my solar lights to simple battery pack operation and they worked flawlessly.

Saw a post on the solar fans, what I need to know is if the solar lights work at all? I don't mean the solar garden lights, I mean the spot lights. If they work for you, please let me know.

IMHO this is an extremely well written and detailed article about an event that some experts say-is overdue. the sun will be entering a solar maximum cycle in 2013 which will mean the sun is more active. IE (as most of you will undoubtedly know), more...

We are not entering any period....
There is no defined frequency or period.
There is no way of predicting solar storms.
You can see the southern lights before the 1859 event.
In 1859 they were seen to almost the tropics.
It was amazing Lame.

We did not put outdoor Christmas lights up this year. I mentioned solar lights on strings, and dh likes the idea. Where can I find these at good prices? I'd like to get some for the camper. We have a string of battery operated lights for now.

I remember when this started a few years ago when there was load shedding - but don't think it's really continued :/ I see lights out daily on my 11km commute to work (Northriding > Paulshof)
Anyway - from what I've seen they need massive solar panels...

I think the solar idea should be left to areas with no available grid, thats the only reason....
Do they really need solar panels for this?
I'm sure they could just charge a battery while there is power and run from the battery when there isn't.
