For my purposes, I usually ssh into a machine inside the router's network... .
I'd suggest that you don't try to access the admin services directly from outside: you'll spend time trying some exotic forwarding to get it right and it likely won't be very secure .

How to do it again? I had simply forwarded needed ports (e.g. for counter strike, ftp, http etc)) but now with same system, same OS and same router and settings, it's not working. Tried setting router to "factory defaults" and do everything again. However...

This is the most common reason for when everything is working, no updates have occurred... .
Stupid question, but need to check - are you using DHCP?
It is possible for your IP to change and then you need to manually redo all the ips that the port forwards to .

Try resetting your Linksys router, you may have configured....
If it works on your computer, then there is no reason why it shouldn't work on the Linksys' WAN the Linksys router's WAN IP settings the same way you're computer is set up.

I haven't had to buy a Linksys in a couple of years.
If it's still having issues, it may be the hardware .
It's a far superior firmware).
I'd recommend dumping the Linksys firmware and load up DD-WRT.

Should be all you need....
What you need to do is NFS mount the folders from one computer to the other .
If both computers are connected to the same side of the router then the router has nothing to do with it .

Try opening a web browser and going to http://192.168.X....
Power the WPSM54G back up.
Unplug power to your WPSM54G and connect the print server to your wired network .
That printer server supports standard IPP.
You probably don't need any special drivers.

You can reset.
If resetting the box doesn't work, try reinstalling the latest firmware from Linksys.

I have a Vonage router used for outgoing VOIP calls. It gets a LAN ip by connecting to a Linksys WRT54g via DHCP. From there, it cannot actually get a WAN ip or connect out.
What do I need to port forward?

If you have a Vonage Motorola vt2142, you can browse to it's IP address .
I didn't have to port forward anything, it actually calls home to the Vonage mothership, but I wasn't receiving "dial tone" until I called them and had it activated .
