When I test the speed at toast.net I get a wireless network myself... .
This actually helped a lot.

Then you will need....
What exactly is behind the plug on your wall ? Do you have FTTH or do you have something else ?
If you have fiber to the home, to totally replace your livebox you need a multi VC fiber modem, which you will need to plug to your router .

Er, um, MTU set to <= ....
(Had to change the modem IP address -- the linksys router and the modem used the same one; but looks new features.
Pretty grandiose of me, eh?)
I'm doing PPPoE, on a Linksys.

As this is the first time that "big" packets
are transferred in the protocol, a MTU setting that is too big can
cause packet fracturing....
One is a MTU problem.
In my experience, two things can cause this problem.
Or
transfer files.
