Student Loans V.S. Regular Loans? What is the diffrence between a student loan, and just a regular loan?

So lots of thinking going on about the Federal Direct Loan rates doubling. Our president wants to do this by raising taxes and the republicans by cutting part of ObamaCare.
My opinion is that both are wrong and student loans should be left to the states...

In late 2010, the GOP leadership announced they would allow taxes for everyone to go up and to cancel unemployment insurance money, unless the top 1% were able to maintain their low tax rates. There was zero talk of how to pay for these continued low ...

Saw an interview with one of the many leaders of the Chicago protests. He was in studio at WGN 9 News and the anchors were asking him for his 'demands' to end the protest.
