I would like to make a free open-source C++ application for both Linux and Windows which will create live stock market charts (i.e. they're refreshed frequently).
Please could you give me some pointers on these issues:

If you mean real-time, you will never get.
You said you wanted "live" market charts.
But IB is excellent in that it covers a multitude of exchanges including, I believe, London area, IMO.

Please leave platform flexibility out of the equation for the time being but I have always understood that managed code ran equally fast to C++ due to the compiler optimizations that get done.
If that is the case I cannot understand why the LSE have decided...

Economic Calendar for 01/09-01/13/2012 Hello Traders! The second week of trading in 2012 looks more like 2011 again. This market reminds me of the Bill Murray movie called 'Ground Hog Day" where Bill is forced to repeat same day over and over again.

Is anyone trading these markets actively?
Is there a satisfactory way to roll these markets for accurate historical back tests and for actual trading? If so, please advise.
