I would like to make a free open-source C++ application for both Linux and Windows which will create live stock market charts (i.e. they're refreshed frequently).
Please could you give me some pointers on these issues:

If you mean real-time, you will never get.
You said you wanted "live" market charts.
But IB is excellent in that it covers a multitude of exchanges including, I believe, London area, IMO.

Please leave platform flexibility out of the equation for the time being but I have always understood that managed code ran equally fast to C++ due to the compiler optimizations that get done.
If that is the case I cannot understand why the LSE have decided...

I am really interested in visiting several of the markets that have been mentioned on TA… the markets in Camden Town, Borough Market, Portobello, etc. However, I will be in London the second week of November, with shorter days and not the best weather...

BUT - I don't live there anymore - so though, vegastraveller, the London 'Christmas Markets' are kind-of a touristy thing with not much.
Markets I have seen in Central London have been in December.
