I've never and taking the tube on many....
I've been out and about in London on my own around those hours and always felt perfectly safe.
Also, I don't consider 9-10pm to be late.

I need to stay in central London for a couple of nights in February. I prefer not to go as far as Bloomsbury so usually pop into the Travelodge at Covent Garden or Premier Inn at County Hall.
But does anyone know of anywhere else that's reasonably priced...

First let me just say thank you for even looking at this question!!! You guys must be tired of it. We are going to be in London for 8 days in April and are staying in Mayfair. We plan on taking a car into the city from Heathrow but probably a train back...
