Does anyone know an easy way to take a Timed Powerpoint presentation and export to a MOV or other video file that I can put on DVD to play in your average dvd player.

As far as converting to a mov or wmv file you should be able to right from Powerpoints....
What kind of computer do you have? Mac or Windows? PC, but I can get my hands on a Mac too.

Put PowerPoint aside, I must agree with the question....
It's the only real competitor, as OpenOffice.org is just plenty of talks and presentations, and teaching speech techniques for several years.. .
If you've got a Mac, try Apple's Keynote.

My Mum has been sent a CD with a PP presentation on it. It's been sent
encrypted, and won't play on her Mac. I've run it using Crossover, and
it plays, although without audio, as a 'read only' file in PowerPoint,
or straight away using the included PP...
