That said when you first set up your new MacBook Pro it gives you the option of moving data from the Time to run both your new MacBook Pro and the old MacBook Pro if it were loaded on either or.

When you close the lid, the Macbook enters in stop mode, which shuts down the network interfaces! I use my MacBook all day long with the lid closed and an external monitor, bluetooth mouse.

But of course.
You most certainly can! Of course, you would need to install OS X from it's install disc to get it up and running .
