Keep in mind that you're assigning modern day ethnic labels to people who lived long ago. Until modern times many of the lords and nobels could not even speak the language of the common people. In many places in central and eastern Europe the rulers were often German speakers, but the subjects themselves spoke various different languages and identified themselves as many different kinds of peoples including Hungarians and Lithuanians. At any rate the whole argument borders on the absurd. It's similar to the various other threads on this forum asking what the ethnic identity of various ancient peoples were as if they've never changed in the last 2000 years or more. source

Lake Ohrid and the city of Ohrid are beautiful and a wonderful travel bargain! There are so many things to see in the area around Ohrid. The food is wonderful and the prices are very good for travelers. Even wondering off the main tourist areas was fun. source

In that mod, Macedonia has it VERY hard early on. In fact, in some ways it's easier for Sparta or the likes as they can exploit the war in which Macedonia pretty much starts. Defensive combat to win the initial conflict with the barbarians, followed by a cautious build up is best. Try to assimilate the Greek nations and slowly build up a nice navy and 2-3 reliable armies. source

Hope you don't mind if I join in but resently I have been searching for more information on the falcata and its origin. I have heard that it is attributed to the celtic people of Iberia but does anyone know if there are specific Roman texts that talk about this weapon or mention its origin? Any information on that or the connection between the weapons already mentioned in this thread would be great. source
