I am bidding on a Singer 66 treadle machine and base that I'm going to need parts for ... if I win.
The machine has been electrified ... yuck, and the treadle parts have been removed from the base. It's my intension to restore it to a treadle machine....

If you "win" that treadle base, email me treadle base because one leg was broken off.
I still have some/all of the parts you mention.
Joe Joe,
A few years ago I disassembled a Singer treadle base because one leg was broken off.

I'm so excited!
I called at my local charity shop yesterday, bought a couple of odds and ends, and as I was leaving, saw a box of sewing patterns outside. I went back in to pay for the four (un-cut ) patterns and, as you do, got talking about sewing machines...

I picked up an ancient Singer treadle machine today. Complete, as best as I can tell. The cabinet and cabinet base is damaged and will need parts and wood work to make right.
I need to ID and date this machine. I've been to ISMACS and although they give...

From Jay Bell's website, I think it is identical to your machine:
http://sewnuts.com/15/class15.htm
This website says the mechanism of the Improved Family machine is different than the 15 and uses in and threaded the needle.

This site may help with your restoration exactly like an
electric machine (except that the power source is different).
For

I know that it would be AWFUL to ruin my treadle (1948 Singer 15-89)
by converting it to electric, but I am hoping to be able to do it in a
way that I can convert...

You should only have a problem if the machine treadles and hand cranks....
Need a Singer external type motor and a screwdriver! Take the
treadle belt off, bolt the motor on the machine, and pop the rubber
motor belt in place.
