Wow! It sounds as if you have been having a time of it, Maxine. I hope you're over the flu and feeling much better now.
You had martens trying to go after your kitties? That must have been scary. I'm surprised that they even tried...martens are too small to really be serious about grabbing a cat...they usualy eat moles and other small critters. It's good you got rid of them in any case.

A Pinemartine is a relative of the weasel family. The male get about 2 1/2 feet to 3 feet long and they weight about 3 1/2 pounds. The females are about a 2/3 of that size. They have their young around the end of March middle of April, so I think they may be looking for dens. Since we live on the boarder of a pine forest we have to expect them around. This year though they are coming out of the wood work. So far we have relocated 7 of them. I did look them up on the internet and they can kill a house cat, so unless I am walking them on their leads they will not be going outside on their runs.

Wow, kind of cute little critter but not so much when they are trying to break into your house and eat your cats. Never heard of them before. Glad you were able to trap them and find them a a new habitat.
