You have to set that at your email provider (if they allow it) or use
pop instead of imap (I'm guessing, I have not used a pop account for
any length of time).
Can anyone using pop confirm if it displays in order received or
displays newest first regadless?

Yes, just use the feature built in to the new OS 3.
When in the camera roll, click the icon on the bottom left corner
then click what pictures you want, not videos, then click the "share"
button at the bottom.

Um, the built in feature in 3.0? Tap the forward button and select up to 5
photos at the time to send them up to as many recipients as you like.

Or, after selecting multiple photos (max I've tried is nine so far) in
the photo app, choose copy rather than share. Close photo app, open
mail app, start new email and paste in the body of the message.
This gets around the pesky five pictures limitation Apple set for the
share button.

I wonder if the 5 picture limit is there so you dont send huge emails that take
forever to send or to stop people from going over the max size for their email
provider ????
I can see someone somewhere trying to send 25-50-100 pictures and/or every
picture on the camera roll in one email if there is no limit. :

Possibly but more probable is that since this option will also pop up with
MMS once it is enabled, it is so that the message will not exceed the MMS
limit and is easier for users (and programmers) to have the same limit for
E-Mail as it does MMS.
To clarify once MMS is enabled (or if you use one of the other solutions to
enable it on the phone before AT&T technically allows it) - when you tap
share and select 1-5 photos the contect menu then pops up with:
MMS
Email
Cancel
Instead of the current
Email
Cancel
And if I remember correctly AT&T's MMS Max Size limit is 60,720kb

Bill,
Finally got around to asking you about this the below statement.
I did finally find a place on the web that explained it down to my level,
and I was able to install 5.0 carrier setting.....
Now, I have the MMS options, and tethering. If I put my SIM in a MMS
enabled phone, I can send an MMS or two, before I start getting errors. But
it works fine when it does work.
Of course, this SIM swapping is a pain.
Should I be calling AT+T and telling them something; or is there nothing I
can do? I recall when 3.0 was in beta, if you called and told them you were
a developer or something, they'd activate it. However, I am not a
developer, and I'm not going to lie about it.
Is there anything I can do? BESIDES WAIT? LOL.

You can try, but I haven't seen or heard of anyone successfully getting it
activated - even when people stated they were developers the customer
service reps would indicate that they didn't have any way to activate it in
the system.
Personally, I don't use MMS enough to have missed it up to know nor would I
use it enough to try and call AT&T, etc - but if you have the "Family
Unlimited Messaging" you could always put your SIM in the other phone make a
call or two, send an MMS then call AT&T and tell them it isn't working and
they see that it is not in an iPhone they might be able to take out the
opt-out code, but you could end up having your iPhone data plan removed
which would lead to a lot more problems.
In other words, I would wait and just use e-mail until they activate it for
everyone.

Bill,
That's sort of what I thought.
I do have unlimited family messaging, so when I put my SIM in my
old phone (Sony Ericsson), I can send/receive MMS fine.
Then, when I put the SIM back in my iPhone, I can usually send/
receive a message or two. Then it stops sending, and I get that
little red error indicator.
It's just a little bit annoying that my iPhone is capable, and AT
+T is capable, and they just don't let us use that capability....
For, as far as I can see, no legitimate reason.

I can do the same thing, generally get two - enough time for them to resync
their system to realize it is an iPhone then block it. I am willing to
guess everyone that has Family Messaging can do this and the reason they are
blocking it is that the millions of people who have an "iPhone Text
Messaging Package" can't send them even with the fooling workaround and
until they can go through the entire system and enable it, they don't want
anyone to be able to do it to save the calls and complaints of "Suzy can
send, why can't I? What do you mean Suzy has Family Unlimited and I don't?"
etc. They do have the capability and stated that it is not the network that
is holding them up, it is the programming for iPhones. While it may not be
the "best" situation I certainly understand their reasoning behind not
letting certain users do it and not others, of course I am often on the
receiving end of clients who want something that others don't get and am in
the situation of telling them everyone is treated the same.
If it is any consolation you can very easily imitate the MMS functionality
by using e-mail, just have someone who you want to MMS back and forth with
initiate it by sending your a Text or MMS message to your EMAIL address, it
will show up as from Thei...@TheirCarrierAddress.com and you can
then reply or save that address and e-mail a picture, video, or message &
picture back to them. Every cell phone has an E-Mail address, a Verizon
phone 812-555-1212 for example is 8125...@vtext.com, etc - it is easier
if you have the person SMS/MMS you to your e-mail address then it shows up
as their phones e-mail address so you don't have to guess it, etc - just
save it.

I think it's around 600kB, or at least it was with my Razr v3 on AT&T.
If the same applies to the iPhone, then the OS is going to have to do
some crunching as most of my pics on my 3G are 800kB - 1.2MB. Even
with some extreme compression, that's gonna come out to maybe two, max
three pics over MMS.
The 3GS folks even less because of the higher megapixel camera I would
guess. What's your average pic size on the 3GS?
Who knows, guess we'll just have to wait for AT&T to enable it in the
US to know for sure. What about you other folks in other countries who
already can MMS?

Probably. Back in the 56k modem days and early DSL most mail providers
limited single messages to 2 - 5MB, both for transmission speed and
limited mailbox sizes.
Today with high speed Internet connections and cheap (relatively)
storage, most of the big guys are in the 10 - 25MB per message range
(like GMail).
Still, I wouldn't put it past someone to try and send 25 - 30 pics in
an email and wonder why they get a bounce.
On the 3GS, you all can attach video files too right? Given that a
video can be an arbitrary size depending on length rather than the
relatively 800k - 1.2MB a typical iPhone pic (on a 3G) is, I wonder
why the five choice limit exists rather than something like a size
limit.
Something like a dialog that says "you've attached 15MB to this
message, are you sure you want to send?".

If the video is 'too' large it will not be able to be sent via MMS and I am
sure there is a limit to the e-mail to when the only options become Youtube
and MobileMe.
I don't know what version of the carrier settings they start showing up in
(maybe 4.0, 4.2 or not until 5.0 as I am only running 5.0) but if you look
in Settings is a line for MMS Max Message Size, and I believe that I read AT&T's max is
60,720Kb (60,720 Kilobits or 7,590 Kilobytes)
