After just over 30 years in traditional employed business at senior management levels, I started a home based business 10 years ago.
I was lucky I met with the President of the company I now work in partnership with, and what he told me about his company persuaded me to take a chance and join in with his opportunity.
One thing I learnt over the first 30 years, was that if you could get a business that could produce what might be considered a guaranteed income, then that would give you an excellent chance of success.
I now have an international business, which basically just acquires customers for the parent company, but I save my customers money on services they use every day without thinking. The parent company does all the work looking after my customers, they collect the billing and pay me a percentage of my customers bills every month.
The other thing I learnt is it is better to work smart rather than hard. I regularly ask people what makes companies like Wal-Mart in the US or Tesco in the UK so successful. Most replies I get are they have low prices and offer a good range of products, well that certainly can attract customers but the real reason for their success is they have a huge network of stores across the country and the world. Yes having a network of outlets is the key to success.
So if you could build a network of outlets offering customers an excellent deal, you would have the chance of building a successful home based business. Now I am not suggesting you need to go out and open shops or stores, you can build a network of people just like yourself, people who want to work from home, people who need an extra income.
My business is being built simply by talking to people, finding those who want to save money or earn extra money, it is really very simple.
Now there are a large number of opportunities out there, I have tried some which were on paper very good but in practice less so, so you will have to do plenty of research into whatever you look at, if you would like to take a look at what I do then go to my web site http://www.iolair.acnrep.com

There are lots of businesses that are legitement, The best bet is to research and find something that is doing well, Has been around for a while and you would feel confident sharing with your friends and family, I personally enjoy helping people with there health care cost's so I work with Ameriplan, You are welcome to check out the company and see If It would be something you would enjoy doing, Best Of luck in your search,

Ameriplan as a MLM has been around a long time. You are recruited into the company as a distributor and then train you how to market this plan to your friends. They are dental only and there are companies for medical that include dental for the same monthly fee so this product is a harder sell today plus unless you have a passion for this.
For anyone looking to work from home you need to research any product you want to sell. There are people out there with websites who are looking for affiliates to help them sell their products--you earn commission on the sales. Think of the info-commercials you see like SML where they drop ship products for you to your customers--you put on home parties with products on hand that you've purchased at wholesale or sell from catalogs, you can sell these products from an Ebay store--but you pay for the store whether you sell the products or not--many have lost money using Ebay. Then the last thing to do is look at what you have a passion doing and think how you can turn it into a business and make money doing it.
I was talking to someone I know and she was going to work P/T for the company she was working in the office for but from home. To supplement she also became a VA and contracted work to increase her income while she figured out how to build a business giving presentations teaching people their legal rights under the law and earn an income doing it.
This is why I work with clients as a coach--you have the answers but you just need someone to sound off with to come up with your own answers. We are now in the Information Age and that's whats selling.
