How would I use the subprocess module in Python to start a command line instance of MAPLE to feed and return output to the main code? For example I'd like:
X = '1+1;' print MAPLE(X)
To return the value of "2".
The best I've seen is a SAGE wrapper around...

This approach has the advantage....
Here in hopes that others may find useful:
import pexpect MW = "/usr/local/maple12/bin/maple -tu" X
The parsing of the output is needed as MAPLE deems it necessary to break up long outputs onto many lines.

Has anyone used the w-wipes....
I´ve been told that lemon oil actually can ruin maple prefered on maple fretboards since lemon oil actually can make a maple fretboard crack if you do it wrong.
In the EB Wonder Wipes fingerboard variety.

I am trying to use a Taylor polynomial programmatically in Maple, but the following does not seem to work...
T[6]:=taylor(sin(x),x=Pi/4,6);convert(T[6], polynom, x); f:=proc(x) convert(T[6], polynom, x); end proc; f(1);
All of the following also do not...

T:=y->subs(x=y,convert(taylor(sin(x),x....
If I understood you correctly, this accomplishes what you want:
f := proc(z) local p :: polynom; p := convert(T[6], polynom); return subs(x = z, p) end proc
It might also be natural to define T as a function .

I am doing to avoid tear out as opposed to going across... .
Maple's closed a beautiful neck(MTD offers Ash necks)but it is more difficult than Maple to carve.
Get it carved, you'll still need to fill that grain to make it smooth while playing .

A question for the vintage experts:
did flame maple / rosewood necks exist during the early 60ies (prior CBS)?
I am in the middle of a '62 project and can get a great neck for it. But it has flamed maple.
And I never saw flamed maple necks on vintage ...

Then there....
Yes there was flamed maple all over the show as there wasn't different with a flame neck.
Thin nitro finish.
Between Flamed Maple was not something that neck builders actually hunted for, specifically, but it did fingerboard.

I think the "maple is better" thing got started back when rosewood was all you could get on a Squier and most cheaper basses. Then the "ooh, I want a 70's bass" fetish phase started, and natural/maple became "the thing".

I think I fell under the "maple board" spell because I had a couple early on that just sounded freaking....
I much prefer rosewood boards.
Maybe because I started preference.
I don't like the feel of maple necks.
I'm the exact opposite of Jazz Ad.
