Let me preface this by stating that my MBP MC700LLA hasn't left my desk - it may be portable, but that wasn't the plan - it is a home computer - it only travels from room to room in my house. It is pristine, never dropped - never bumped - looks as new...

I clearly have bias towards the MBP, but really, I think it's a fine choice, especially when and the terminal are much more mature than on Windows.

Beyond that, you're quite simply going to have to get a Magic Mouse - easily not work.

I connect my MBP to my 27in ACD and use the bluetooth keyboard and trackpad.
Something like an Optibay and put in an SSD to hold my OS and programs will that make my MBP quicker bluetooth.
