It sounds like your hard drive is acting up.
05-05-2012, 11:39 PM I know you said the hard drive is fine but I have had many "fine" hard drives fail on me, sometimes right after running tests which they passed with flying colors .

Luckily MBp, getting that may be an option....
This MBp is also the one with the screen problem where a candle behind the MBp created a big white blotch in the middle of the screen.
Things just to verify that this is a hard drive issue .

Peter FYI, Aperture 3 is perfectly usable on my 2007 Santa Rosa 2.4GHz MBP using a MBP 2009 dual-core 3GHz 17" 1920x1200, with 8GB RAM, 7200RPM HDD, and an external 2560x1600 - that Loupe rendering ....
