I am planning to do human med after vet med but i'm wondering if this would be overkill? i know a few lecturers in my school are trained in both vet/human medicine on top of having a phd. but i have never got a chance to talk to them yet... so i am wondering...

If you want to practice human medicine go to med school medicine (although I don't actually know of any), this is a completely understandable road to take from practicing veterinary medicine....
