They made some bad purchases, had some bad publicity, did some downsizing, froze salaries, were penalized with costly fines, and the economy doesn't help matters either, among other things like healthcare reform. I can see them divesting their least profitable businesses - maybe refocusing exclusively on cardiology - their bread and butter - back to basics - roots. But, I'm an outsider and this is all just speculation. source

Are you talking about the big square one-hand application things? If so, they simply go over the sensor and transmitter after you've inserted and connected them. source

What kind of issues are you having with the Minilink? Personally I don't think Dexcom is going to be better, just different with its own set of issues. Give more info about the Minilink and I will be more than happy to help you. source

I recently upgraded to a 522 from a 512 and I'm keeping my old one as a backup. In fact after a few weeks I had to return the new one because it wasn't defective. Each time I filled a resvoir it wouldn't deliver insulin I was having bs as high as 400, anyway I used my old one as a backup until they delivered a new one the next day. source
