What firewall rules do I need to apply to block MSN Messenger? I've applied the following:
msgr.hotmail.com messenger.hotmail.com gateway.messenger.hotmail.com login.live.com
I've also blocked all traffic on port 1863.
Still able to sign-in.
Any suggestions...

Far better to prevent MSN Messenger from being run; it's stopping the problem Messenger TCP....
Than block it ;)
Add MSN them all covered.
Use tcpdump to find out what type of traffic does MSN messenger generate.

So seriously has this thing died altogether? I log in every day but i only have like 2 online contacts , used to have many more.

MSN was like facebook ....
Never would interface.
MSN was cool though.
Basically only use skype and facebook now.
Add in all the social networks and people can reach eachother online at any time they want .
Steam replaced MSN for many.

Checked in my privacy settings there and the contacts I had deleted were still Messenger v2.6.3-6nix0 application....
Sorted mine now.
With MSN accounts as well as many others, stable and easy to use...
