Why do Jews reject Jesus Christ as the Jewish Messiah? This is just a curious question and I am wondering what are the reasons why Jews reject Jesus as the Messiah?

He was just another guy claiming to be the messiah who happened to be Jewish.
People before him and many after him claiming to be the messiah.

Nowhere is it written in the Hebrew Bible, that the messiah is going to be God Himself.
"Messiah" simply means "anointed one", and refers to an anointed king. (or high priest)
So why isn't the Christian messiah a normal anointed Jewish king?

Hopkins opens with Rensselaer and CMU. Messiah starts with Wittenberg and Swarthmore. On 9-7 JHU and Messiah meet in what has become one of the best rivalries in the east. It should be an interesting first week of the season.

Why would or looking for in a messiah.
On a cynical level, any church is too invested in itself to declare anyone the Messiah, even was just another guy wandering the Holy Land whose followers thought he was the messiah.

What do you think? If God decided it were time to send a messiah to Earth in 2012, in a similar context to the story of Jesus - i.e. born to a human woman but with all of Jesus' superpowers - where would he choose to locate the messiah?
