It appears that when wishlist finds a programme that is broadcast on many channels (e.g BBC1 versions) - on some Tivos it records poor BBC1 AD version and some Tivos record BBC1 HD version
Anyone know why this is?

Per the TiVo Support page these are the times I should contact: The TiVo Live Guide shows ER on Channel 2 at 8:00 PM on 12/01/04, but should show CSI.

How are the input files for VAP named? Have you considered the input file name metadata parsing feature of VAP? This is on the Advanced Configuration form, Metadata Templates tab.

VAP also attempts to look up metadata for TVQ1: Yes your 2nd step sounds like a VAP candidate.

Not only is it now transferring even less of the metadata, my Premiere no longer sees the TD server. TD (version 2.3 running on a Win2K system) still sees the Premiere and will transfer files and pyTivo shares still show up in "My Shows" but the TD server...
