Is it possible to install windows updates from the command-line? The graphical update tool doesn't seem to work so well in Windows 7. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't... My problem is that I can't see any updates when I click to see the details...

Windows Update (and Office Update) are Microsoft run, and while third parties such as nVidia and Intel are allowed to use it for driver updates, it is not an open platform.

You should just install....
So
a) as long as you have Windows Update active
and
b) you're including Office in the updates
it will download and install the correct version for your installation.

Opens very nicely in Excel - Notepad if not.
The error is : There is currently no updates to be found, because the windows update service in diagnosing Windows Update problems.
