How long do you microwave a 10 to 13 ounce potato in a 700 watt microwave? Even though the skin is a little shriveled the flesh has a chew in it. I don't
know if it is undercooked, overcooked, or if that is just the texture that the microwave cooks it...

Its a CONVECTION....
You'd need around a 2000W microwave to hit 16A.
Idk what kinda microwave you got that needs a dang 20A dedicated circuit! HAHA! I run a HUUUGEEEE 1200W sharp carousel off a 15A shared no problem.

Our ancient, honking big microwave died suddenly....
You may want to look at one that is both a microwave and convection oven if you use it to cook whole meals.
A GE 1100 watt and it was about $100 and it is great for just a microwave.

If I ever needed another microwave, I would not....
That microwave still works great now.
I picked up a new cap for $10.00 at the appliance repair store and replaced it myself .
For info and found the capacitor in the microwave was bad.
