Trim off all fat indirect heat around....
Buy large joint of pork, the larger the better (Butt or Picnic).
And loosely wrap pork in al foil let rest for 30minutes this is not so much as to let it cook more as I understand them to be.

Pork butt roast is on sale for $1.49/lb. at our local grocery store so I'd like to make pulled pork sandwiches for dinner next week. Does anyone have a simple pulled pork recipe for the slow cooker that they really enjoy? TIA!

Take the pork out of the crockpot, and shred with 2 forks, put back in crockpot with some more BBQ sauce, cook the pork in half the bottle, shred it and then reheat for another hour or so with moreIf I want to use it for more....

Smoked a 7lb. picnic (pork shoulder) roast yesterday. Six hours of smoking and four hours of roasting in foil at 225 degrees. Took the roast to 190 degrees internal and gave it an hour to cool down a bit and then started shredding (and nibbling).

This is more of a primer on BBQing a pork shoulder cause I figured that most of y'all knew how to make a sandwich. However it does contain my last smoke log and perhaps will help some of you. Enjoy!

Should note that salt pork is not the same thing as bacon: Salt pork contains more fat.

I was reading some recipes and tips for using my new sunbeam innovo bbq (awesome btw). all the pork roast recipes suggest putting the pork on a rack over a pan with a shallow amount of water in it, then topping it up every half hour. does anyone do this...

I do alot of smoked pork roasts (boston butt's in round 8 to 12 hrs but it is better to leave it longer as pork will soften the more its cooked roast was 39hrs.
Yes the pork will turn out more moist (haha moist).
