We have been told by our travel agent that rental car companies will not allow their cars to take the ferry to the Isle of Mull. Does anyone have experience with this issue?

From the larger towns in that area you can also book guided bus-tours to Mull that there will be *any* information relevant to Mull....
My last time on a ferry to Mull is quite long ago but I remember well the ground then.
