OK....so i have like 3000 songs on my n1 stored in a folder 'Music' on the SD card. I also have like a dozen games on the SD card. the problem is...whichever player i use (stock,winamp,powerAmp,etc),they all show sound files from the game folders too....

With 3rd party music apps you can specify a folder, powerAMP does this, go to settings and specify only your music folder..
What's so difficult about the subject that algorithm designers are having a hard time tackling it? Is it really that complex? I'm having a hard time grasping why this topic is so problematic. Can anyone give me an example as to why this is the case?

I prefer my working that Microsoft had a team working on speech recognition, and they called themselves the "Wreck a Nice Beach of the physical world.....
Environments where computers are used are not good candidates for speech recognition.

At the bottom of the music player to bring up more options and select music recognition Please hit recognition app....
Tap the 3 dots ...
No need of extre app.
Shazam music recognition is built in all wave phones.
