A marvellous BBC series about the impact of British Musicals has just finished and it struck me that it is a topic that isn't discussed much on TSR (apart from 'What song should I do for my audition threads).

It has brilliand music, and the text for the less flowery numbers, and probably too much good material to cram into one comprehensible show, but the music is extremely of the instrumental or incidental choral....
I'd go for West Side Story.

I actually just watched Sweeney Todd for the first time last night, and it was very... interesting. The characters are excellent and I loved everything about it, but the badly done throat slashing and very obvious fake blood spraying ridiculously everywhere...
