To get more power out of a spring air rifle without ruining it, unless done by a professional at a cost it was about 5 to 6 rings off the old spring what's in the rifle at the minute and put 2012 - 08:18 PM, said:

You'll need the JM Hornet Kit and the Hornet seal for the HW97: http/item/251485/1151533.htm The Hornet kit increases velocity....
I had a JM kit in it before and the Vortek kit is superior IMO for a drop in .
One in my HW97 and it's the best.

What air rifle to buy ? I'm looking for a pellet rifle to shoot the possums in my backyard, to many houses around for the old .22 but don't want to spend a fortune on one.
Thanks Dutch

But a .22 caliber LR CB than any spring piston....
Got a bow? Benjamin Air Rifle! The pump variety.
I have had a bunch of spring piston guns, but have been working with new Benjamin Nito Piston rifle, but they are pretty tough.

JD338 shy side for Kodiak.
Right nowWhat are we hunting?
In general, tough to beat a good SS bolt rifle in 338 Win Mag.
To stainless or some coated rifle over blue/walnut but it sure doesn't stir my soul too much.

I bought a very nice HW55 last year. It does not say Beeman on it; it's marked with the polygon F. The breach seal is leather so I assume the piston seal is too. Why should I keep leather when I believe I can convert to synthetic using HW 50 parts? I ...

My, as far as....
With proper maintenence, a leather main seal can last several generations.
It takes seal to a synthetic.
My very old 1958 model 55 MM is my smothest shooter with a leather seal.
Taught me better.

Hi, I've got a lovely Weihrauch rifle with a spot of rust ont the barrel.
What shall I do?
Sand it with a fine grit and then apply some oil?
What oil or product would anyone recommend or can I save my money and use something from the garage?
Many thanks...

You can get special oil to use to oil the internal spring.
The oil can combust under pressure.

Pretty much any air rifle will kill a rabbit with a single shot if you get a headshot at sensible is a great rifle IMO, if not the lightest thing to lug around, and a couple of hundred quid secondhand to be sure of a clean kill with no suffering....

When I was a kid I had a Crossman pump air rifle. 200-rd. reservoir, 18 shots on top, brass bolt with what looked like an acorn nut on the end. I still have it somewhere. The plastic pump stock shattered, and I replaced it with a piece of broomstick. ...
