So, did the hype for NATAL die?
No, I think Natal has the capabilities to be something very special. The threads were mostly created by haters and people set on convincing others that they knew the future and that a technology that is not out yet is going to be a dud, and those people by and large dropped it when the "ZOMG! MS is going casual" thing got thrown back at Sony and their wand.

Natal or Not At All?
It'll be too expensive when it comes out in my country of residence, which is why my anticipation and interest for it is so limited. But then again, I don't see myself having much more interest in it if I actually were in the States, or somewhere more appropriate.

MIT To Out-Natal Project Natal?
I think this would be less like Natal competition and more of new-age computer input. The hand has to stay awfully close to the screen in order to register, making it impractical for people who have a tv across the room. I don't expect to be channel surfing with this any time soon, but it does add an extra level of awesome to touch-screen computer monitors.

You think there would be a bigger price cut if ms wasnt gonna bundle natal?
If Natal does what they claim it does, its going to be ungodly expensive. Or, and this is the more likely scenario, it will be cheaply price or bundled, and it won't work well.

Project Natal, isnt that just another eye toy?
I think Microsoft really wanted to reach out to people who don't do well with controllers, and put some fun interavtive games that they can do with just some movement. So Microsoft is trying to get more customers from New Gamers to Hardcore Gamers. And if you want to look at it as an eye toy then thats your choice, but I think its a little better.
