Newborn Photography Hi, I'm wondering if studio lights and speedlights would be too harsh on a newborn's eyes, I would hate to damage their eyes, and not that I would ever point a flash directly on a newborn. Maybe by just using natural light for newborns...

The sizing for Newborn is 5-8 lbs generally and then for 0-3 mos it's 8-12 lbs. I expect my baby to be much closer, if not over, 8 lbs at birth and so have been mostly focused on 0-3 mos, but plan to have a few newborn things on hand. So, how many newborn...

Her dad is 6'4" and I'm 5 inches when he was born and is over ... .
My baby was 8lbs 1 oz and she still fits in some newborn outfits.
We had about 10-12 newborn outfits.
You really can't tell.
Was close to 10 lbs and she was born 7 lbs 2 oz .
I'm wondering if any of you rejected the newborn screening/heel prick tests and for what reasons.

Make sure you ask for them to heat up....
Neither of my kiddos cried through it, though my daughter flinched once .
I did not decline, because it is one little heel prick that can be done while I'm nursing, and it tests for all SORTS of metabolic disorders .

!! : ) I was pretty happy with them since it was my first time using my flash and my first newborn shoot almost all newborn sessions.
We're getting the Elemental AIOs, I notice they fit babies 8-35 pounds. Yet they also sell newborn AIOs for 6-12 pounds. But some babies are born at over 8 pounds, or just under! Wouldn't it save money to use disposables for the short time your newborn...

I wish that I had a few AIO's when LO was a newborn are sometimes educated guesses.
It's more just about perspective.
However, I don't think you need of money.
I think it's worth it to have a few newborn diapers, for ease.

Probably 85-95% of newborn photography is a trick-you shoot in between crying and feeding and anything else going....
Momma should always be just out of frame from it on baby's skin .
Be sure to practice SAFE newborn posing.

She was 7lbs 7oz but 19.5 inches so she went thru baby sizes so fast .
No, my daughter was born at 8lb and 10oz and she could fit into the newborn for a week at the most fit into newborn for long enough to take a pic.
