Sorry there may be a thread about this already.
Why have they taken out the newspaper recycling in Bagenalstown and near the college in carlow? I do a big recycling clear out every few months so they may be gone a while at this stage.

Plus the bins are hired and that costs too.
It costs a lot of money to clean up, surveil and investigate so they decided it was cheaper to remove .
The high volume of illegal dumping that went on was given as a major factor .
Cost!

I am always careful about sorting recyclables from the regular trash.

I know they recycle glass bottles, but are there recycling plants on this island for things like newspaper, tin, aluminum, and plastic?

I think recycling is just the wrong approach....
I don't have much of a problem taking the recycling to the depot myself the recycling is very selective and for the most part I have to put alot of recyclable stuff anything.
